We are situated in a beautifully secluded part of Staffordshire – perfect for that get away from it all holiday. Enjoy dozens of walks in the Peak District right from your front door (we supply maps if needed), enjoy exploring the nearby river or maybe just a stroll to the local pub. As we’re right on the doorstep of the Peak District, you’ll have hundreds of acres to explore, with unspoilt rivers, fabulous valleys or challenging hill walking for the more adventurous.
If cycling is your thing, there are trails to explore and local cycle hire companies that can provide bikes to suit all ages, including tandems, baby carriers and kiddie trailers.
Short breaks welcome
There’s a host of things to do without even leaving Broomyshaw Farm. Maybe just enjoy the fantastic countryside views, take in the peace and quiet, or venture down to the two acre play-safe field where there’s goals, basket ball nets and picnic benches. You may even run into the ducks, fancy chickens or Elliott, our pet pony.
To help the youngsters burn off excess energy, we also have a kiddies corner, including a play area with trucks, trikes and tractors and more. On selected weekends you can watch and listen as the steam trains pass along the Manifold Railway track.
Things To Do
As secluded as we are, we’re not isolated from the dozens of local activities right on our doorstep. Alton Towers, the UK’s best theme park is just 10 minutes down the road. But rather than stay at the Alton Towers Hotel why not enjoy the tranquillity of our self catering cottages. If you’re an adrenaline junkie, you can still head straight for the 14 looping Smiler. Younger children will love the new Cbeebies Land, where they’ll be able to meet all their favourite characters.
Drayton Manor Theme Park boasts one of the best rides in the country, whilst Trentham Gardens, Monkey Forest, Aerial Extreme, The Potteries, Stoke Waterworld and Tamworth Snowdome are all within easy reach for a great day out. Self Catering Facilities
All our self catering cottages have pleasantly furnished lounges, including colour television and radio. They have fully-fitted kitchens which include cooker, washing machine, fridge and microwave and are fully equipped with enough crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils for the number of people staying.
Meadow Cottage and Swallow Cottage both have a bathroom, and Stable Cottage has a shower room. There are fitted carpets throughout and electric storage heating. Fresh bed linen is also provided. A BBQ, safety gate, cot and high chair are all available on request. A parking area is available for each cottage.
Central heating and electricity charges are all included in your stay.
To enable you to make the most of your quality time together, we’ve provided board games, cards, books, a DVD player and a selection of DVDs in every cottage.
We are pet-friendly, so just let us know, when booking who you’ll be bringing with you.
If you don’t fancy cooking, let someone else take the strain! All the local take-away restaurants deliver to the door. So if you fancy a Chinese, Indian or Italian meal – it’s just a phone call away.
Asda, Tesco and Morrisons will all deliver to your cottage too, so you don’t even have to go out shopping. If you place an order with them before you arrive, we’ll make sure your groceries etc are all in the fridge waiting for you, when you arrive.
